Turning Healing into Art — and Art into Everyday Magic.
If life were a painting, 2019 was when my canvas flipped upside down.
What started as a stubborn stomachache quickly became a Stage 3B cancer diagnosis — and in a heartbeat, every color and line in my life shifted.
I've always been creative and have usually created some "art," but this was a whole new kind of expression—raw, honest, urgent. Suddenly, art wasn't something I did—it was how I survived. It became my lifeline, my way through the storm, my thread of lights in the dark.
For the first time, I was creating for myself, for hope. I sketched with courage. I colored from fear, strength, and surrender, all one stroke at a time. Through digital iPad screens, splashes of watercolor, and quiet moments of creation—from guided visualizations during chemo to meditative painting after treatment—my art became not just a coping tool but a compass guiding me home.
Today, Caring Arts extends my healing journey.
It is where creativity isn't about being "good" at art—it's about being present.
It's a place where coloring outside the lines is encouraged and where lines, color, joy, healing, and expression all dance together.
Whether you're fighting illness, carrying stress, or simply seeking a creative spark, this space is for you. No experience is necessary—just an open heart and a curious spirit.
Come as you are.
Leave a little lighter.
Maybe even with a splash of unexpected magic. 🎨✨
